Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Donation
This week we welcomed some of the fantastic volunteers from Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service (LEBBS) to our site and found out more about the vital service they provide across the county. LEBBS offer the NHS and its patients as much help as possible by ensuring urgent and important items (not just blood, but medicines too) are delivered without incurring any costs.
We presented them with a cheque for £3,120, which came from the proceeds of our Easter staff raffles, with match-funding from the company. All the riders and drivers are volunteers, but they need funds to help with the costs of running and maintaining their motorcycles and cars to cover the thousands of miles they travel every year.
In 2024 they covered 195,500 miles in support of the NHS plus daily runs to and from Lincs/Notts Air Ambulance to ensure fresh blood supplies were maintained. LEBBS relies totally on public and corporate donations, so we hope our donation will significantly help in addressing running costs as the demands placed on the charity continue to grow.
