Fundraising totals presented to Branston Charities of the Year
Branston has made its fundraising donations to the charities supported through this year's the Around the World in 80 Days Challenge. The Lincoln site donated £14,628 for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, the Scotland site presented £9,916 to Childrens Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) and the South West site cheque for Childrens Hospice South West was for £7,460.
120 Branston employees and suppliers took part in the fundraising challenge, which took place from Saturday 8 August to Monday 26 October, across its three sites. The challenge saw the team aiming to run, walk and cycle the distance around the equator. They finished 501 miles over the 24,901 mile target.
James Truscott, managing director at Branston, said: “We’re really pleased to have raised such a generous amount for our chosen charities this year. Fundraising has been a real challenge due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which cancelled many of our events, but we’ve managed to beat our goal and support an amazing cause.
“I’d like to thank all the team and our suppliers, who collectively covered more than 300 miles a day throughout the challenge. I would also like to thank everyone who has supported us and made a contribution.”
The company will continue supporting these three charities during 2021, until the end of its financial year in July. They are hoping to undertake a number of further fundraising activities over the coming months. To find out more about Branston's chosen charities for 2020/21, click on the links below:
