Michaela has many years’ experience in the grain industry, from field to fork. She has worked around the world and headed up sales for a number of B2B companies, with expertise in milling and extrusion (a thermo-mechanical process using heat and pressure to create crunchy ‘puffed’ pieces).
She joined the Branston team in summer 2022 - an exciting time for the development of the newly built potato protein facility. As General Manager Michaela will be focusing on refining the extraction process and developing the potato protein range to supply manufacturers of plant-based foods and meal replacement products.
Michael has been in the food industry since the age of 18, managing everything from butchery and bakery to sandwich fillings and fresh produce. With a strong background in Continuous Improvement and Total Quality Management, Michael has taken on a series of interim roles in recent years, helping over 30 different companies across the UK.
In 2022 he decided to settle in Lincolnshire and joined the Branston team as General Manager of the Fresh potato factory. He’s responsible for managing the day to day operations of the factory, keeping everything running safely and sustainably whilst building on the strong quality culture and implementing the people plan.
Gareth has been working in food factories since he was 18. After graduating from Bristol Business School, he spent a further 13 years in food businesses, getting a good grounding in a range of operational and technical management roles.
He joined the Branston team as General Manager of the Prepared foods division in 2022, bringing with him extensive knowledge of both fresh and ready-to-eat food manufacturing. Gareth is responsible for day-to-day running of the Prepared foods and Prepared Ingredients factories, balancing safety, cost, service and people management, as well as longer-term business initiatives.
South West site
Jonathan has a wealth of experience in the food sector, having performed operational and management roles at Kerry Foods Limited, QV Foods Limited, Brake Bros and Westaway Sausages Limited across a period spanning over twenty years.
Jonathan joined the company as General Manager in September 2017. He is responsible for the day to day operation of all aspects of the South West site, as well as short and long term planning, procurement, quality and health & safety programmes.
Kevin was brought up on a potato farm and he worked on the farm at weekends, grading potatoes and driving tractors from an early age. He started working for Stokes Bomford Potatoes in 1987 as a tractor/forklift driver, then moved to AR Scott in 1989.
In 1990 he joined the team at the Scotland site, when it was still WCF Potatoes, and by 1999 he had been promoted from Forklift Driver to Team Leader, then Site Manager. He took over as General Manager of the Scotland site in 2015.
