Proving our green credentials

At Branston, being ‘green’ doesn’t mean doing the bare minimum to comply with government legislation. It means going above and beyond to do our bit (and then some!) for the environment.

In 2009, this meant working hard to achieve ISO 14001 accreditation for all three Branston sites, followed in early 2010 by accreditation for our new Prepared foods factory at the Lincoln site. ISO 14001 is only awarded to companies that demonstrate conformance with comprehensive environmental management systems and processes to ensure they reduce their impact on the environment wherever possible.

We’re also extremely proud to have been the first food producer in the country to receive the Carbon Trust Standard, back in 2008. The award recognised our success in reducing our carbon intensity despite considerable business growth. As we continue to grow we’ll be continuing our efforts and working on reducing our carbon intensity every year.
