This week the third of the National Citizen Scheme (NCS) groups that Branston sponsored has completed their social action project (the culmination of their four-week programme). The 16 year olds have spent the week fixing up the children’s play area at Croft Street Community Centre in Lincoln. They cleared overgrown shrubs, repaired and repainted the play equipment and designed and created a Noah’s Ark themed mural for the children to enjoy. They also held a special community event, raising £260 for the Make a Wish charity.
It's great to see the fantastic team spirit that these young people have built up during the programme and the effort that they’ve put in for charity and to help out their local community. NCS brings young people together from different backgrounds to work in teams and teaches them what it means to be responsible and contribute to their communities.
