Branston is delighted to have been presented with an Investor in Education Award by the Education Business Partnership (EBP). The company was nominated for its work with local schools on the Project Lumen Enterprise Challenge. With a specific brief to develop a branded potato-based product that could feasibly be produced in Branston’s Prepared foods facility, a number of Lincolnshire schools opted for the ‘Potato Challenge’. Mentors were allocated for each school to provide support for the students whenever it was needed.
One of the schools Branston worked with – Haven High Academy – was the overall winner of the Project Lumen challenge. Their project team (the Spud Club) met regularly and worked together to come up with an innovative new potato-based branded brunch product. They also attended the glittering EBP awards event at Belton Woods Hotel in Grantham and were delighted to see Branston receive the Investor in Education Award.
