Branston's South West site site has presented a donation of more than £5,000 to national children’s charity, Brainwave.
The team at the Ilminster site has a longstanding relationship with the charity and has supported its efforts in the region for a number of years.
Ian Wait, operations director at Branston said: “Brainwave is a great charity that works to support children with severe disabilities achieve greater independence. The charity works with therapists to improve children’s mobility, communication skills and learning potential, through a range of educational and physical therapies. Brainwave changes the lives of families in the region and we are so pleased to be supporting them again this year.
“We raised the money through bake sales, raffles and sponsorship money for our century bike ride held last year. The whole team at Branston has gone above and beyond to get involved with all our fundraising activities, and it’s incredibly worthwhile. The amount is the total we raised for the whole year, and we are looking forward to another year of charity fundraising.”
Philip Edge, chief executive of Brainwave, accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity. He said: “This large donation from Branston will help us continue to support families in the local area, and make a positive impact in the lives of children who suffer from life-changing conditions.
“We currently support more than 600 children and their families through our three centres in Somerset, Essex and Warrington and with our clinics held in Scotland and London.
“As a charity we rely on donations from our brilliant supporters, and these donations mean we can continue our important work to positively impact the lives of children and their families.”
