Branston has sponsored T-shirts for the children attending the local Kidz Club and Wednesday (13 August) saw a visit from our company’s mascot Billy Branston. Billy gave out some goodies and told the children all about his Amazing Potato Factory – a fully kitted-out double decker bus which will be touring schools from September to teach children all about potatoes.
Branston All Saints Kidz Club is a group of children aged 4-11 years who meet twice monthly throughout the school year and get together for fun activities during school holidays. It’s linked to All Saints Parish Church and was set up some eight years ago with a ‘Fresh Expression of Church’ grant from the Diocese of Lincoln. The club helps children explore in a relevant and inspiring way, themes from Christianity, through art, drama, dance, music and technology and is run by volunteers from Branston All Saints church.
Simon Telfer commented 'We are delighted to be supporting the Kidz Club with their summer holiday session. It’s one of a number of local causes that we’ve supported recently and it was an ideal opportunity for Billy Branston to get out and in the local community to talk about potatoes! Billy Branston’s Amazing Potato Factory is supporting the Tesco Eat Happy Project that aims to teach primary school children all about their food and where it comes from. Billy will be out on the road soon, so if you’d like the Amazing Potato Factory to visit your school please get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org.'
