2008: International Year of the Potato
The International Year of the Potato will provide an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of the potato in particular, and of agriculture in general, in addressing the global issues of food insecurity, malnutrition, poverty and threats to the environment.
As dedicated potato people, we want to make a major contribution to the International Year of the Potato in 2008. We’re funding a project in Peru’s Potato Park to provide seed multiplication and storage facilities to bring back traditional potato varieties.
To raise awareness of the International Year of the Potato we’re also taking a virtual trip around the world's key potato producing countries. Each month we're featuring new recipes inspired by the tastes and traditions of these countries. Click on the flags to find out more.
