Mashed potatoes
What you’ll need:
- 500g potatoes
- 20g butter
- A splash of hot milk
What to do:
- Peel the potatoes and cut into large even-sized chunks
- Boil for 20 minutes in a pan of salted water
- Drain and return to the pan
- Add the butter and hot milk to taste
- Mash away until smooth and velvety
Good varieties to use:
Desiree or Maris Piper
Top tip:
Use an electric whisk for ultra smooth mash. You can also try adding crème fraiche or cream if you’re feeling indulgent!
