Just outside the village of Branston, four miles south of Lincoln, you'll find our 21-acre site. In the past 3 years, we’ve spent an impressive £9 million on the site:
- A £2m intake facility introduced in October 2005 to let us size grade, wash and defect sort in one pass
- In 2007 an extensive upgrade of facilities - transit packaging storage, an extended despatch area, new production office, new staff facilities - all to help prepare us for increased volume in April 2008
- In 2007 significant investment in temperature control facilities, including new cooling units, additional insulation to buildings, fast action doors and air-curtains
- A new 9000-tonne cold store to hold our best quality stocks for up to 10 months, whilst considering environmental impacts and running costs by utilising glycol cooling technology
- 7 packing lines for ultimate flexibility of supply, from paper sacks and boxed cartons to poly pre-packs, in a wide variety of sizes
- 5 dock-levelling loading/unloading bays
- Integrated Quality Assurance (QA) building allowing intake and output QA functions to operate side-by-side, improving communication and shared data
- Accredited ISO14001 standard, an internationally approved standard of environmental management system
- New company-wide business software and database system which fully integrates finance, payroll, HR, trading, agronomy and despatch functions
- A dedicated development kitchen for creating exciting new products
